Progress Testing Leadership
M.A., Co-Founder and lifelong education entrepreneur
While working on a curriculum project for the State of Texas in 1998, she saw the need for high-quality test banks firsthand. She and her partner, Brad Smith, started Progress Testing in response to the frustrating lack of resources available at the time. From a start-up of two to a company of over 30 assessment specialists and tech savants, Ms. Bresko has consistently met the evolving formative assessment needs of American school districts while creating a nurturing culture for excellence at Progress Testing.
Ph.D., Psychometrician and practicing authority within the field of measurement and evaluation
During her tenure as the head of Data Analysis at the nation’s 6th largest school district, she created numerous testing programs, performed dozens of program evaluations, validated and implemented end-of-course VAM testing, and established the test development center, among many other achievements. She also taught measurement and evaluation courses at University of South Florida, Embry-Riddle, and Nova Southeastern, and she often led teacher trainings on weekends and over the summer. Though she is one of the most accomplished psychometricians in the country, we think her greatest achievement is her ability to make complex statistical concepts understandable to everyone.
Ph.D., Director of Content
Before joining Progress Testing in 2013, she amassed 10 years of experience teaching college courses in Writing and British and American Literature. A published author, she has her Ph.D. in English from the University of Florida. Teaching and learning are supremely important to her, as is the study of literature. She believes all children have the right to a high-quality education in order to become informed and curious critical thinkers.
