NGSS was developed by a collaborative, state-led coalition of 26 states with the National Research Council (NRC), the National Science Teachers Association, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
This process produced a new set of high-quality, college- and career-ready K-12 standards based on the National Academy of Sciences’ “A Framework for K-12 Science Education.” The standards were released in their final form in April 2013.
Next Generation Science Standards have been adopted by 12 states and Washington, DC, and are continuing to gain momentum across the country.
The ReadiBank currently features over 12,000 items aligned to the NGSS. More items are added through regular updates.
